About Us
Curtain Express was launched in 1998 by Ena Shaw Ltd.
Ena Shaw is a family firm founded by Ena Shaw in 1933 as a curtain maker and soft furnishing retailer in St Helens, Merseyside. She was joined soon after by her husband, Harold Potter, and in the 1960's by her sons, Jim and Barrie.
The company started manufacturing made to measure curtains for other retailers in the 1980's under the Richard Barrie brand, and has grown steadily since then to become one of the UK's largest curtain makers.
The company is still managed by the Potter family alongside non-family directors and managers. We are firmly committed to UK manufacturing and are proud that all our made to order curtains and blinds are made by our staff of over 200 at our 84,000 sq ft premises in St Helens, Merseyside.
